Event Description

November 14-16, 2014     

The weekend is dedicated to showing how to expertly and safely shoot rifles, shotguns and bow and arrows.  There will be lots of time for you to actually shoot.  You can sign up for only one merit badge for this weekend.  Cost for the weekend is $75.00 per scout  and $35.00 per adult.   This  includes your meals, camping fees and basic program equipment.

Important Program Information for All Participants:

Space is limited: PLEASE REMEMBER TO REGISTER YOUR SCOUT FOR THE MERIT BADGE HE WILL BE ATTENDING!

   48 spaces for Rifle Shooting

   20 spaces for Shotgun Shooting

   50 for Archery.

  • There will be a mandatory safety instruction at 7:00 pm on Friday night.
  • Must bring a pen and notebook.
  • NO PERSONAL FIREARMS ALLOWED IN CAMP

Scouts/Adults must bring:

  • Tent, sleeping bag and personal gear

Scouts will be required to have the following:

  • Merit badge book and workbook (found at www.usscouts.org) to record your work.
  • Scouts should travel to camp in their Class A Uniform
  • Signed blue card from Scoutmaster to show approval to take badge.
  • Scout will not be permitted to participate if he does not have the signed blue card from his unit leader.
  • Please print the program packet from our website www.sgvcbsa.org,  it is located near the sign up here button, all of the information you need is there (list of what to bring, prereq's and forms).  Some of the above merit badges may have prerequisites (requirements that will need to be done before coming to camp).

  • Bring a completed medical form for each youth and adult (Part A and B) and permission slip for youth to camp.  Cost includes camp fee, program materials used and meals (3 on Saturday and Breakfast on Sunday).

     

    NOTE: Minimum recommended age for Shotgun Shooting merit badge is 14 and up.  This is per the Range Masters.

    NOTE: Though safety glasses will be provided, it is highly recommended that participants provide their own safety glasses to ensure scratch free lenses and proper fit.  Clear or yellow tinted shooting glasses can be purchased from Big 5 and other sporting goods stores.
